How to watch Wednesday’s Leafs-Bruins Game 7

0

The Bruins and Leafs have everything on the line.

The Maple Leafs play the Bruins in Game 7 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff on Wednesday in Boston. Game time is 7:30 p.m. ET on several different TV channels, depending on where you are: NBC Sports (national broadcast in the United States), CBC (national broadcast in Canada), Sportsnet (Toronto market), and NESN (Boston market). You can stream the game on NBC Sports’ website in the United States.

The Bruins are playing at home and favored, despite losing the series’ last two games. Most oddsmakers have the Bruins around -165 odds, giving them better chances than either of the home teams in upcoming Game 1s for the second round. This makes some sense; the Bruins have been a great home team this year, and the Leafs have been far worse on the road than at home. With the last line change at home, Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy can deploy ace defensive center Patrice Bergeron against whichever Leafs he wants.

But Boston has reason for alarm, too. The Bruins threw everything including the kitchen sink at the Leafs in series closeout opportunities in Games 5 and 6. Massive edges in shot attempts and scoring chances haven’t been enough, as Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen has outplayed Bruins counterpart Tuukka Rask. There’s a good chance things will turn for the Bruins if they keep up the pressure, but there’s also a chance it won’t. Such is the volatility of a Game 7, and it’s why the Bruins can’t feel that comfortable heading into it.

The winner will start the second round with two road games against the Lightning, who had the Eastern Conference’s best record this season and played like its best team in the first round. Tampa Bay easily dispatched the Devils to start what could be a long playoff run.
