Leafs fans sang a beautiful ‘O Canada’ on Monday
After a terrible day, Toronto sang together.
A man drove a van through a crowd of people in Toronto on Monday, killed at least nine people, and injured many more.
Before Monday’s night’s playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins, O Canada played, as it does at every NHL game involving a Canadian team. Home crowds in Canada always sing along. But the Leafs fans, who joined 16-year-old Martina Ortiz-Luis, turned out an especially powerful rendition. Here it is:

The crowd also sang along with the American national anthem beforehand. Both anthems came after a moment of silence that recognized the victims.
