The incident occurred midway into the third period in Game 1 of their series on Wednesday. As Carrier recovered the puck, Doughty delivered a high hit towards Carrier’s head. Carrier did not immediately get back up from the ice.
Now without their top defenseman, the Kings will have to look elsewhere to avoid another loss in the series. The Golden Knights defeated the Kings 1-0 on Wednesday for the team’s first-ever playoff victory. Game 2 takes place on Friday at 4pm ET.
