Markelle Fultz is back on the court for the Sixers and Philly fans couldn’t be happier.
The fans at the Wells Fargo Center greeted Fultz with a standing ovation as he entered the game late in the first quarter for the Sixers. It was his first time in an NBA game in five months. Fultz had not played a game for the Sixers since October 23 due to a shoulder injury and to relearn how to shoot.
His start could have better, however as his first jump shot turned out to be an air ball.
Now that the Philadelphia 76ers have clinched a playoff spot and got their star rookie, they should be considered a threat in the Eastern Conference. A young squad like that without Fultz was scary enough for the other teams in the association. They’re not the favorites, but they’re the team no one wants to play in the postseason. Adding Fultz only makes it worse for the rest of the East.
Before Fultz’s return on Monday, he had played only four games this season averaging 11.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
