KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In consecutive seasons, Jess Learned (JR/Washington, Ill.), has represented the Olivet Nazarene University women's basketball as one of 10 players in the nation who were named to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Third Team All-America list. On Thursday, March 15, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017-18 Division II Women's Basketball All-America teams.

The All-America Teams are selected by the NAIA All-America committee. Ten individuals were selected to each of the first, second and third teams, plus 30 to the honorable mention list. Learned is one of seven players from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) who were honored.

In the history of ONU women's basketball, Learned is only the second Tiger to be named to one of the first, second or third teams in two seasons. She is also the youngest player to be designated to All-America status twice. Learned was also named CCAC First Team All-Conference for a second consecutive season.

Learned, a 5-foot-10 forward, started all 33 games and led the Tigers in minutes per game (22.2), scoring (18.4), rebounds per game (6.2), defensive rebounds (150), steals (88), field goals attempted (475), three-pointers made and attempted (109-of-293), three-point percentage (.372), free-throws made (92) and percentage (.787).  She is second in field goals made (201), free-throws attempted (122), offensive rebounds (53) and assists (65).

She also finished with a two double-doubles and scored in double figures in 32 of 33 games played. She scored 20 or more points 12 times.

Among NAIA leaders, Learned finished fifth in three-pointers made per game (3.3) and total three-pointers. She was ninth in total scoring (607) and 16th in total steals. Learned was 18th in points per game and 24th in steals per game (2.7).

In her first three seasons as a Tiger, Jess Learned has already made a name for herself in the record books. Learned has already scored 1,399 career points, grabbed 538 rebounds and accumulated 217 career steals, good for 12th, 17th, and 13th, respectively in program history. She also is seventh all-time in free-throw percentage at 76.4%, going 220-for-288. She only needs 477 points in her senior season to break the all-time career scoring record at ONU.
