Campus watch: Kelly Donnelly concludes Skidmore career
Kelly Donnelly's career is over with the Skidmore women's basketball team. And, what a career it was.
The 5-foot-7 guard from Wynantskill (Averill Park High) had 16 points and 11 rebounds but the Thoroughbreds dropped a 70-66 decision to FDU-Florham in the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament last Friday in Brunswick, Maine. It was her fourth straight double-double and 15th of the season.
Donnelly made Liberty League history on Feb. 27 when she was named Co-Player of the Year along with Ithaca's Cassidy O'Malley. It was Donnelly's third straight Player of the Year award. She became the first woman in the league to accomplish that feat. She averaged 19.3 points and 9.
