Siena basketball seeks comfort of home

Albany

They're playing at home. It's the main reason, and maybe the only logical one, to think the Siena men's basketball team can make noise in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament this week.

The Saints are 8-23 and whenever their next loss comes, it will tie the program record of 24 defeats set in 2005 and 2013. But they have shown some fight at Times Union Center and, of course, that's where the MAAC Tournament is for the fourth straight year.

No. 10 seed Siena takes on No. 7 Quinnipiac (10-20) in a first-round game on Thursday scheduled for 7 p.m. The winner meets No. 2 seed Canisius on Friday at 9:30 p.m.

"I think we just feel more comfortable at home,'' Siena junior forward Evan Fisher said.
