Fantasy football rankings 2017: Quarterbacks for NFL Week 17
Here are our fantasy football quarterback rankings for Week 17. Positions: QB | RB | WR | TE | DST
Editor’s update: There are now reports that Ben Roethlisberger will NOT play on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Landry Jones would start in his place. Jones holds some value in leagues where you start two quarterbacks, or can use a flex position on a quarterback, but that’s about it.
It seems like the season only started a few weeks ago. Here we are already at Week 17. Let’s take a look at who you should start in the final week of the regular season.
Jameis Winston has been having a pretty good finish to his season. Over the last four games, he’s passed for eight touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s averaged 305 yards passing in those four games. His Week 17 matchup is against New Orleans at home. Winston is worth a shot because the Saints aren’t the same team on the road. If Tampa Bay falls behind early, the offense will become pass heavy. I think Winston will have a really good game to finish the season.
San Francisco has found its starting quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo. He’s scored the third-most fantasy points over the last two weeks. Last week was the first time he passed for multiple touchdowns this season, and he added a rushing touchdown. He faces a tough defense in the Los Angeles Rams on the road, but he played very well last week against what may be the NFL’s best defense, the Jacksonville Jaguars. He may not have the best group of weapons around him, but gets the most out of them. I like his chances of capping the season off with another strong performance.
There’s no new injury news to report this week, but keep track of the possibility of teams resting their starters. The Philadelphia Eagles have clinched home field, and that could result in Nick Foles riding the bench or playing just the first half. Nate Sudfeld would start or play the remainder of the game in his place.
Paxton Lynch will get the start for Denver against Kansas City in Week 17. Lynch has struggled in his limited playing time over four career appearances. I think you have many other options that are better than picking up and starting Lynch.
SB Nation’s sleeper pick for Week 17 is Jacoby Brissett. He has struggled over his last five games but has faced a gauntlet of the league’s best defenses. I believe he’ll end the season on a high note. Brissett will be taking on the Houston Texans at home. His second-highest passing yardage total came against the Texans in Week 9. I think he’ll pass for 230 yards, one touchdown, and rush for a touchdown.
