Texans vs. Ravens live stream: How to watch 'Monday Night Football' online

0

Hooo boy, this is probably not gonna be a fun night to be Tom Savage.

The Ravens defense looks like the storied Baltimore championship teams of years past. The Texans offense is...certainly part of their football team. An unmovable object meets a slow-moving force in primetime when these two AFC rivals face off on Monday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN (live stream).

The Ravens became the first team in 11 years to shut out the Packers at home last week, bullying backup quarterback Brett Hundley into his worst outing as a pro. They’ll have the chance to feast on another backup Monday. Tom Savage will start for Houston after the team lost dynamic rookie passer Deshaun Watson to a torn ACL before Week 9. Savage will face the biggest test of his career against the league’s No. 2 passing defense — and he’ll have to do it under the bright lights of a national broadcast.

Texans at Ravens news:

The defensive coordinator who led New England to that 35-0 shutout was everyone’s favorite assistant coach/tiny sentence, Dean Pees. On Sunday, the architect behind the Ravens’ defensive effort was ... Dean Pees. The Patriots got a tremendous effort from a future Hall of Fame linebacker in Junior Seau, and a blitzing attack that tallied five sacks. The Ravens got a tremendous effort from a future Hall of Fame linebacker, Terrell Suggs, and a blitzing attack that chalked up SIX sacks.

Judon may have had the best game of his career against Green Bay. He had two sacks and a forced fumble. Not to mention, he was vital in stopping the run.

You might think that this is a grim undertaking. You might even say “watching Tom Savage play quarterback will give me spontaneous gangrene and cause me to lose an appendage.” And while learning how to use a prosthetic limb might be more engaging, watching Tom Savage attempt to huck a football does have a certain entertainment value if you know what to look for.

Actually, Savage might not be that bad.

Savage stepped up his production in last week’s win over the Cardinals. The on-and-off Houston starting quarterback completed nearly 70 percent of his passes and threw a pair of touchdowns, making a matchup between him and Blaine Gabbert surprisingly watchable. Of course, that came against the NFL’s 22nd-ranked passing defense. We’ll see if his mini-revival is for real against a unit that’s torn up uneasy QBs in 2017.

Texans at Ravens prediction:

It’s a clean sweep; all eight SB Nation writers and the OddsShark computer are picking the Ravens to defend their home turf.
