Siena basketball gets letter from Wojcik

Jake Wojcik is a grandson of the man who gave Siena men's basketball coach Jimmy Patsos his first head coaching job. Wojcik is also from a coaching family with a father and uncle who both led Division I programs.

But Patsos said Wojcik, from San Jose, Calif., will play for the Saints next year because of his talent, not his connections.

"This is no favor,'' Patsos said. "This guy's, like, earned it and is a really good player."

Siena announced Wednesday it received the national letter of intent from Wojcik, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard from Bellarmine Prep in San Jose. He orally committed to the Saints last December. The early signing period ended on Wednesday.
