Cowboys miss LT Tyron Smith more than any other player against the Falcons
The Falcons are taking full advantage of Smith’s absence.
The big news this week was that the Cowboys would be without running back Ezekiel Elliott after a federal appeals court ruled that he would start his six-game suspension. The bigger factor on the field for Dallas on Sunday is that star left tackle Tyron Smith is sidelined with back and groin injuries.
The Falcons have landed five sacks on Prescott. Four of those were allowed by Chaz Green, Smith’s replacement.
Falcons defensive end Adrian Clayborn is having himself a day.
Adrian Clayborn has 4.0 sacks today, matching the most by any player in a game this season (Calais Campbell, 4.0 sacks against Texans in Week 1)

Defensive tackle Dontari Poe has the other sack. Clayborn and Courtney Upshaw have each added a hit on Prescott, and the front seven is getting pressure consistently.
It’s showing in Prescott’s box score. He’s completed 11-of-16 for 107 yards and no touchdowns. He’s also lost one fumble.
Smith’s injury is causing all kinds of problems for the Cowboys offense. But they’re definitely missing Elliott, too.
