[Men's Basketball] UC Merced Opens Season with Record-Setting Wins

The 2017-18 California Pacific Conference men's basketball preseason campaign tipped off last week, and UC Merced hit the ground running.  Playing in the Frank Dye Classic in Vallejo, Calif., the Bobcats won their opener over San Diego Christian--the first time in program history UCM has started the season with a win--and followed that up with a school-record 107 points in a runaway win over West Coast Baptist.  Cal Maritime, the host of the tournament, also won twice to start is season at 2-0.  Embry-Riddle also finished the week unbeaten, topping SAGU-American Indian in its home opener.
