[Women's Basketball] Posey, Evans Named to KCAC Preseason Women's Basketball Team

WICHITA – Friends University senior guard Yowana Posey and junior guard Lexi Evans have each been selected to the KCAC Women's Basketball Preseason team, the league announced today (Oct. 26).

Posey and Evans are coming off productive 2016-17 campaigns that saw each earn All-KCAC third-team honors after helping the Falcons to the KCAC regular season championship and a berth in the NAIA National Championship tournament.

A Chicago, Ill. native, Posey averaged double-figure points (11.2 ppg) last season along with 5.9 rebounds per game.  She also scored efficiently, leading the Falcons in field-goal percentage (.561).

Evans (Austin, Texas) proved to be a viable threat from beyond the arc last season.  She knocked down a team-leading 36.2 percent of her three-point attempts and was the top perimeter shooter in the KCAC (106 threes). She was also second on the team in scoring (11.5 ppg) and delivered 70 assists.

The duo will be counted upon as the Falcons are set to begin the 2017-18 season at home on Halloween night (Oct. 31) against Sooner Athletic Conference member Bacone College at 6 pm.
