[Football] Bethel Puts Scare in (20) Sterling, Fall 31-26
NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel football program needed a lift to their season coming into today's contest with #20 Sterling College, and while the win didn't show on the scoreboard, the Threshers played their most complete game of the season against a team many have pegged as favorites to win the conference. Dominic Webb (SO/Wichita, Kan.) led the offense for most of the game, going 11/15 for 180 yards and a touchdown, the running game with him and Tyshawn Simon (JR/El Paso, Texas) was effective, and the receiving duo of Montero DuBose (SR/Indianapolis, Ind.) and Gary Jolivet (JR/Arlington, Texas) racked up the yardage in a big way. The Bethel defense limited the Warriors' offense severely, and caused some havoc of their own. Despite being outmatched, Bethel just about stole the game on their final drive with Zach Esau (FR/Hesston, Kan.) in at quarterback. The Thershers could not totally overcome the odds, and fell 31-26.
