Man gets 10 years in abuse of teen as part of sex parties
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man has been sentenced to a 10-year federal term for sexual abuse of a 16-year-old in connection with sex parties arranged by a former Pennsylvania girls' basketball coach.
Fifty-six-year-old Daniel Teed was also ordered Tuesday to spend 20 years on probation after completing the term for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that U.S. District Judge Arthur Schwab rejected relatives' arguments that Teed didn't know that the girl was a 10th grader. Teed acknowledged in a June plea deal that he talked to the 16-year-old about her school activities and college plans.
