Eli Manning just had the Giants’ longest rushing touchdown since 2015

0

Eli got wheels, yo.

Eli Manning had a 14-yard rushing touchdown on Sunday, which is kind of a big deal.

It trimmed the Buccaneers’ lead over the Giants to 13-10, but there’s greater significance behind this score.

The touchdown made Manning the team’s rushing touchdown leader on the season (yes, it was his first of the year). It was also the longest touchdown rush by a Giants quarterback in a while:

The touchdown also broke a streak of 21 games without a 10-plus yard rushing touchdown for the Giants. The last one they had was a 38-yarder by Rashad Jennings in Week 15 of the 2015 season.

Manning came into Sunday’s game with -1 rushing yards. He finished the 2016 season with -9. Throughout his career, he’s had just five seasons in which he scored a rushing touchdown. One more and he would have set a single season high for himself.

Get that next rushing touchdown, Eli.
