This Jimbo Fisher GIF tells the early story of FSU-Wake Forest
It’s been a tough day for the Noles, and Fisher’s wearing his emotions on his sleeve.
Coaches can get emotional sometimes, especially when things aren’t going the right way. Florida State’s down early on the road and emotions are wearing thin. It’s 12-10 late in the second quarter.
Florida State’s offensive line hasn’t had a great start to this game, and freshman QB James Blackmon has been sacked twice. Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher expressed his frustration with the situation pretty clearly while talking to the position group.
It is much like his former rival Will Muschamp’s infamous “do your job” whiteboard punch.
Florida State faces off with Wake today in a really interesting position. Florida State hasn’t won a game this season. Wake Forest is undefeated. That’s strange.
2017's inversion of reality is partly a trick of the schedule — 0-2 FSU had to open against Alabama, then lost its starting QB right away, gave up a cupcake W to Hurricane Irma, had a home game against Miami postponed, and started a rookie QB against a talented NC State defense — and partly a result of 4-0 Wake actually being pretty good! The best team the Deacs have beaten is only Appalachian State, but they've taken care of business like a legit team should, allowing 13 points per FBS game and ranking No. 16 in Defensive S&P+.
If QB James Blackmon and the Noles can get the offense revved up, Jimbo can save some whiteboards, and FSU can finally get it season back on the right track.
