George Springer’s first grade teacher came to watch him play, and she brought cookies
This is such a cute reunion!
The Astros’ series against the Red Sox to end the season isn’t completely pointless as far as end-of-season series go, seeing as they’re also set to face off in the ALDS starting next week.
But it is the end of the season so while the stress of the playoffs are about to confront teams full force, there’s still time for some lovely moments and fun before do-or-die at-bats happen.
That happened on Friday night at Fenway, when the Astros’ George Springer received a very special guest before the game — none other than his first grade teacher.

Springer grew up in Connecticut and went on to play at UConn before his time in the big leagues, so it only makes sense that it’s much easier for people to visit him when the Astros play in the the Northeast than flying to Texas to see him shine.
Like a true first grade teacher, with caring genes and a penchant for taking care of people, she brought cookies!
Maybe not best to eat those before running around, but they’ll make a great dugout snack after the game! What a sweet (pun entirely intended) reunion this is.
