The Phillies are holding a ‘Rhys Lightning’ theme weekend for Rhys Hoskins

The magic of Rhys continues.

Rhys Hoskins seemingly came out of nowhere to give Phillies fans something to live for in the last few months of a rough season, hitting home runs at a pace few people have ever been able to do in their first stint in the major leagues.

He currently sits at 18 home runs in only 34 games, and that amazing stretch has fired people up across the league. It’s also been good enough for the Phillies his own theme weekend just weeks after he was called up to the big leagues.

For the team’s weekend series against the A’s, the Phillies are offering a “Rhys Lightning” ticket bundle that gets fans a Rhys Lightning T-shirt and affordable entry to the game. Technically, it’s because of Hoskins winning Rookie of the Month for August but it’s also clearly because of his unending awesomeness.

He was so excited about it, giving away tickets on Twitter and everything.

Tellingly, the deal is already sold out. That could be because of how cool the T-Shirt is, how much people love Hoskins, or just because of the cheapness of the tickets. Just kidding we know it’s not that one. The Phillies are still the Phillies after all.

Receiving a themed weekend like this one so soon after joining the big leagues is rare, but that’s the power of Rhys Hoskins.
