Lane Kiffin explains what it was like being one of the few Florida teams to play during Hurricane Irma weekend
There is a massive hurricane bearing down on the state of Florida. Use some common sense before roasting Lane.
Lane Kiffin says a lot of seemingly off the wall stuff. Plenty of times it gets taken out of context or blown out of proportion. I hope this isn’t what happens regarding these comments. They’re raw and real regarding Florida Atlantic’s situation this week.

Hurricane Irma is slated to hit South Florida Sunday morning. There will be destruction throughout the state, and there are people in very real danger. To assume that this isn’t a distraction for FAU this week would be insensitive and wrong.
FAU played a football game Saturday at Wisconsin, making it one of the few Florida FBS programs that kept its game scheduled. The game didn’t go too well for the Owls, and they lost, 31-14. All things considered, FAU played much better than expected. The spread initially had the Owls as a 34-point dog.
This week has and will continue to be a roller coaster of emotions for everyone even tangentially connected with the FAU program. Wisconsin has extended its facilities to the Owls as a gesture of good faith. In times like this, any helping hand speaks volumes.
