Transfer deadline day tracker: All the rumors and signings

0

Everything you need to know, updating constantly until the window shuts.

Transfer deadline day is here, and this might be one of the most action-packed ones of this decade. A lot of teams have plenty of money and holes to fill, with more deals going down to the wire than last year.

Many eyes will be on Barcelona, who have a ton of money to spend after selling Neymar for a world record €222 million. Ousmane Dembele and Paulinho have already arrived, but the Blaugrana have space for one more world class attack-minded player. Their top target is reportedly Philippe Coutinho, but given Liverpool’s insistence that he isn’t leaving, they probably have a backup plan. That backup plan has yet to be made public.

Considered much more likely to make a move is Alexis Sanchez, who has one year left on his Arsenal contract and could be seen visibly sulking during his team’s loss last weekend. Manchester City had a bid rejected on Wednesday, but they’re expected to come back in for him.

There will be plenty of eyes on Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham as well. All of them have holes to fill and money to burn. Paris Saint-Germain still has some outstanding business to do too. The likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus appear to be done for the summer, but they still have time to make things happen.

Here’s everything you need to know about transfer deadline day, plus a live tracker that will update constantly.

What time does the transfer window close?

In the U.K., the window closes at 11 p.m. BST, which is 6 p.m. ET. That’s also the time that the window shuts in France and Italy. But if your club is in Germany or doing business with a German club, they’ll need to get things sorted out a bit earlier. That window shuts six hours earlier.

Things are a bit different in Spain, which means we might not have a definitive resolution on rumors regarding Coutinho or other players that Barcelona are pursuing. The Spanish transfer window shuts a full 25 hours later than the other big countries, closing at 7 p.m. ET on Friday.
