Whether or not this correlation had any effect on the game, one proven fact is that Bethel was able to open 2017 with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Cavaliers. This game needed two overtimes to decide the victor, and all 110 minutes of gameplay were used as Joshua Clay (JR/Escondido, Calif.) was able to net the goal with only a second left on the clock.
