Supercopa de España 2017 live stream: How to watch Real Madrid vs. Barcelona El Clásico online
Real Madrid has a lead, but won’t have Cristiano Ronaldo in the second leg.
Following their 3-1 win at the Camp Nou over the weekend, Real Madrid have established themselves as big favorites to win the Supercopa de España. But Barcelona will be boosted by a suspension to Cristiano Ronaldo, who received a red card during the first leg.
Ronaldo exacerbated the problem of picking up a second yellow card by shoving the official after his sending off. He’ll serve the suspension for his red card on Wednesday, then a further four-match ban in La Liga for pushing the ref.
Even though Barca is in bad shape after giving up three away goals, they had plenty of chances to score in the first leg, and the goals they conceded were two world class long-range strikes and an own goal. Some better finishing on their part and an average day in front of goal for Madrid could see the score flip easily, even if the play between the boxes is the same from both sides.
Besides Ronaldo’s suspension, the only other player missing for Real Madrid is young defender Jesus Vallejo. Barcelona will be without Andres Iniesta after he picked up a minor injury in training, plus Rafinha Alcantara and Thomas Vermaelen.
