NBA Schedule Release: Lakers full 2017-2018 season schedule announced

0

The schedule has arrived!

The Los Angeles Lakers open the 2017-2018 season with a home game against the LA Clippers before embarking on their 82-game journey. The NBA released the full regular season schedule after giving fans a small sample to feed their hunger last Friday, and the full campaign for all 30 teams is out now.

The Lakers tip things off on Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. PT on TNT, then keep things rolling with a back-to-back to start the season. They’ll head to Phoenix to face the Suns on Oct. 20. In total the Lakers will be featured in 35 nationally televised games.

Other immediate standout games include a Christmas Day showcase against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a home game against D’Angelo Russell and the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 3, a trip to Boston to face the Celtics on Nov. 8 and a nationally televised game against the Philadelphia 76ers at STAPLES Center on Nov. 15. The Lakers’ final regular season game of the season is against the Clippers on Apr. 11. The annual Grammy road trip begins on Jan. 26 and spans five road games (Chicago, Toronto, Orlando, Brooklyn, Oklahoma City).

The NBA bumped the start of the season to minimize the amount of back-to-backs and grueling road trips in an effort to do away with the prevalence of DNP-Rests being handed out to healthy players. The Lakers have 13 back-to-back sets in total, a decrease from previous seasons, and no instances of playing four games in five nights.

Before we dive into the full 82-game schedule, here’s a look at the Lakers’ preseason schedule, which released back in May:
