Felix Hernandez and Adrian Beltre’s fake feud never gets old
It’s one of the best baseball friendships out there.
At this point, many people know about Adrian Beltre and Felix Hernandez’s friendship. They’ve been nigh inseparable since they were teammates in Seattle, and the fun didn’t stop once Beltre left the Pacific Northwest for other markets.
As we noted in our Adrian Beltre Encyclopedia, Beltre and Hernandez mess with each other every chance they get. It could be conversations from the dugout to the mound, keeping tabs on who wins each at-bat, or just some plain old goofing off.
After Beltre got 3,000 hits, Hernandez paused the game to congratulate him at home plate. It’s things like that that make the friendship great.
There’s also the faux-feud side of things as well though, where they are still joking but it’s just a shade less lighthearted than at other times. In the video above, you can absolutely see that coming through in their interactions.
But isn’t that the best kind of friendship? When you can be sort-of joking and sort-of serious all in one moment? That’s when you know it’s real. And with these two guys, it’s real.
