Siena's Brett Bisping playing in The Basketball Tournament
Brett Bisping has had a busy few months since his Siena men's basketball career ended in March.
Former Siena guard Ryan Oliver was in his wedding party and ex-teammates Rob Poole and Jimmy Merrill attended.
[...] Bisping is satisfying his thirst for competition by playing in The Basketball Tournament, a winner-take-all, $2 million event with 64 teams that's in its fourth year.
Like other TBT teams, the Peoria All-Stars consist of former college basketball players, many of whom have played professionally.
The Peoria players would each receive a $157,500 share of the jackpot, according to the team's tournament web page.
If Peoria wins two games this weekend, Bisping and his teammates will advance to the Super 16 in New York City from July 20-23, to be televised on ESPN and ESPN2.
Bisping, making his first TBT appearance, got on the Peoria All-Stars through his older sister, Brooke, who played at Bradley.
Without having practiced together, the Peoria All-Stars won a pair of play-in games in Philadelphia last month to get into the 64-team field.
