Lakers News: Lonzo Ball officially signs Lakers contract

0

Lonzo is officially officially a Laker.

Lonzo Ball is officially a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, signing his rookie contract with the franchise Monday afternoon, the team announced. It’s a minor bookkeeping detail, but one that’s important with Las Vegas Summer League beginning at the end of the week.

In the past the Lakers have cut it close with their rookies leading up to the start of summer league play, putting in question whether their top prospects would make the debut game. That won’t be an issue this season, with Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart all offiically signed.

It’s unclear why Thomas Bryant didn’t sign his contract with the rest of the group, though he is listed on the official summer league roster. He’s also the only second round pick out of the bunch, which could have something to do with it.

The Lakers’ summer league squad began two-a-day practices Monday, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, as a group of players that’s never played together (for the most part) prepares for the draftee showcase in Las Vegas.

The Lakers dropped a small clip of the action going down at their practice facility as well, which you can check out below:
