2017 NBA Draft Rumors: Josh Jackson's second workout for the Lakers sounds like it went horribly

0

The prospect evidently did not address concerns about his jumper or handle.

The Los Angeles Lakers might be looking to trade up in the draft in order to acquire Markelle Fultz, and it might have something to do with Josh Jackson's second workout for the team.

After Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reported the Lakers' high level of interest in Fultz, he reported that Jackson's second workout with the Lakers "did not go well at all." According to Givony, Jackson "brought high energy but struggled with his shooting and handle," both of which are knocks on him as a prospect.

The timing of the reports would imply that this bad second workout in conjunction with Fultz "murdering" his had an effect on the Lakers' thought process in wanting to move up for Fultz, even if just to illustrate that the difference between the Washington guard an the rest of the class is incredibly stark.

Earlier this week there was a report that the Lakers were "split" over whether to take Jackson or UCLA guard Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick, so if Jackson's second workout was that bad, it may make the Lakers' choice easier even if they're ultimately unable to move up and grab Fultz.

Here is an updating list of every player the Lakers have worked out or met with. Harrison Faigen is co-host of the Locked on Lakers podcast (subscribe here or listen to our latest episode on Fultz and draft rumors below), and you can follow him on Twitter at @hmfaigen.
