Question about the "rift" between Zion and the Team

I'm legitimately confused about Zion's problems with the team. Every podcaster and writer makes it seem like both sides are to blame for a "rift."
The first misstep everyone points to on the Pelicans side is the ultra-conservative way we handled the return after the meniscus injury. Zion hated the short bursts, etc. Is that it? Because I don't see how trusting Aaron Nelson's advice as a misstep. What other faults can be attributed to the team and/or Griffin? That he played piano to Zion? That he's just a phony, generally speaking? Thanks.
