Vikings Knock Off Mustangs 72-60, Head Coach Al Berger Notches First Career Win

SALEM, MASS. –  Kia Fernandes (Wareham, Mass.) had a double-double of 22 points and 15 rebounds and head coach Al Berger notched his first collegiate head coaching win as Salem State knocked off previously unbeaten Mount Ida 72-60 on Thursday evening at Twohig Gymnasium. Fernandes went 10-13 from the field and also added five blocks in 34 minutes of action, helping the Vikings improve to 1-5 on the season. The Mustangs now stand at 1-4.
