Game 1 postponed, Women's Baseball World Cup Qualifier between Puerto Rico and Canada to resume Thursday in Fajardo
The Puerto Rico Baseball Federation (FBPR) announced the postponement of Game 1 of the best-of-five series between World No. 3 Canada and No. 9 Puerto Rico due to inclement weather. FBPR will move the game from Carolina to the Concepción Pérez Alberto Stadium in Fajardo. Game one is now scheduled for Thursday, April 30, at 14:00 local time.
The series will return to the Roberto Clemente Walker Stadium in Carolina for a doubleheader on Friday, May 1. The first game will start at 14:00 (local time) and the second game will follow after a 30-minute break.
If necessary, Canada and Puerto Rico will take the field in Carolina for Game 4 on Saturday, May 2, at 19:00 (local time) and for Game 5 on Sunday, May 3, at 13:00 (local time).
FBPR announced previously that all the games are free to access and will stream live on the FBPR Facebook page.
The winner will advance to the X WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage.

The Women's Baseball World Cup Group Stage 2026
The winner will join No. 2 USA, No. 6 Mexico, No. 8 Hong Kong-China, No. 10 Australia and No. 12 Korea in Group Rockford (Illinois, USA) from July 22 to 27.
Tainan (TPE) will host the other group from August 23 to 27. Five of the six participants have qualified: No. 1 Japan, No. 5 Venezuela, No. 6 Chinese Taipei, No. 7 Cuba, and No. 28 Great Britain. The WBSC will award a Wild Card to the sixth team.
Finals 2027
The top three finishers from each group will advance to the Finals, which Rockford will host from July 19 to 25, 2027.
