Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hit back-to-back home runs in the Phillies’ 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. The pair of back-to-back homers was the first for the Phillies this season.

Schwarber went deep first, giving the Phillies a 3-2 lead in the third inning with a three-run shot to right field off Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt. Harper followed with a 419-foot shot to center field for a 4-2 lead. Schwarber’s home run was his fourth of the year and first in eight days. Harper’s home run was his third of the season.

The Diamondbacks made it a one-run lead for the Phillies in the eighth inning. After Brad Keller got two quick outs to start the frame, the right-hander lost his control a bit. Keller issued a two-out walk to Geraldo Perdomo, and Adrian Del Castillo followed with his third single of the day to put Perdomo on second base. Rookie Jose Fernandez singled Perdomo home to make it 4-3. Keller finally got out of the jam by striking out Nolan Arenado. Jhoan Duran pitched an easy ninth inning to finish the win.

The Phillies found themselves down 2-0 in the third after Taijuan Walker’s outing got off to a rocky start. Walker allowed a leadoff home run to Ketel Marte three pitches into the game. He allowed another run to score three batters later on a single by Del Castillo. Corbin Carroll, who Walker walked after Marte’s home run, easily scored from second base on the hit.

Walker went on to settle in after Del Castillo’s RBI single. He finished the first inning with back-to-back strikeouts and allowed just two more hits on the day. Walker’s final ledger included five innings, two earned runs, four hits, two walks and six strikeouts. He got his first win of the season for his effort.

Andrew Painter is scheduled to take the mound for the Phillies on Sunday as they look for a series win. First pitched is slated for 1:35 p.m. ET.
