Baseball Champions League: first win for Diablos Rojos and Cocodrilos
There's no team with a perfect record and two games played after Day 2 of the 2026 Baseball Champions League.
In the morning game, Cuba's Serie Nacional champions, Matanzas Cocodrilos, made their debut with a win against the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) runner-up CTBC Brother on a walk-off single, 9-8.
The hosts, Mexico City Diablos Rojos, the two-time defending champions of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), earned their first win by beating Managua Dantos, the Nicaraguan Pomares League champions, 10-6.
The standings
Cocodrilos-Brothers 9-8
The Matanzas Cocodrilos used a six-run bottom of the sixth and a walk-off single to win a thriller against the CTBC Brothers.
The Brothers took a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth, but Matanzas got to Angel Macuare. The Venezuelan reliever allowed a two-run homer to Yulieski Remon and left with runners at second and first and one out. Relievers Ko-Lun Chien and Chao-Chun Teng couldn't stop the Cuban lineup. Matanzas added four runs on four hits, taking an 8-6 lead.
Armando Duenas blew the save, allowing a walk and back-to-back hits to the Brothers in the top of the ninth. He left after a fielding error. Brander Guevara couldn't prevent the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Meng-Chih Hu, but got out of the inning with two strikeouts.
Third baseman Luis Sanchez won it for the Cocodrilos when he got to Lei Hsu in the bottom half of the frame with a two-out walk-off single.

Diablos Rojos-Dantos 10-6
The Mexico City Diablos Rojos scored all the runs they needed in the first third of the game and never needed to look back. The LMB champions scored six runs on six hits, including three consecutive doubles by Rio Ruiz, Yoshinobu Hoshina and Carlos Sepulveda to lead off the second, against starter Danilo Bermudez and added one run on reliever Rodney Theophile.
The Diablos Rojos used seven pitchers, but a shaky outing by reliever Edgar Navarro, who allowed four runs on two hits and two walks, helped Dantos to stay in the game until the top of the ninth, when the hosts opened the score with a three-run rally.
