Morning Briefing: Cubs Extend Pete Crow-Armstrong

Good morning, Mets fans!

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Chicago Cubs and center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong have agreed to a six-year, $115 million extension starting in 2027. Passan notes the deal is unique because it lacks a club option, allowing Crow-Armstrong to reach free agency before his age-31 season.

Crow-Armstrong, of course, was originally drafted by the Mets.
