Baseball5 stars celebrate INDER 65th anniversary in Cuba
Some of Cuba's biggest Baseball5 stars celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Cuban National Institute for Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER, Instituto Nacional de Deportes, Educación Física y Recreación) with a celebration Baseball5 game at the Giraldo Córdova Cardín Superior School for High Development Athletes (ESFAAR, Escuela Superior de Formación de Atletas de Alto Rendimiento) in Havana.
Cuba Blue, which included World Champions Orlando Amador, Lietis Arcia, and Yiliena Otamendiz, and Youth World Champions Josué Gutiérrez, Alexander Ortiz, and Judith Espinel - beat Cuba Red after three competitive sets, 2-1. Cuba Red included World Champions Briandy Molina, Yoel Blanco, Claudia Lores and Youth World Champions Amanda Díaz and Claudia Gómez.
Eros Bernal Morales, the Baseball5 Technical Head in Cuba, commented that Baseball5 was the right way to celebrate the anniversary.
It's the first time the Baseball5 stars have played since competing in the Heroes de la Trocha Cup in the Venezuela Municipality, Ciego de Ávila Province, in January.
Later this year, Cuba will chase their third Baseball5 World Cup title and also have hopes of participating at the Dakar Youth Olympics, where Baseball5 will make its Olympic debut.
