Alice Lloyd College Announces Partnership with Appalachian Regional Healthcare to Support Allied Health Club

Alice Lloyd College is proud to announce a new partnership with Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) through a $30,000 commitment in support of the College’s Allied Health Club. ARH representatives visited campus on Tuesday, January 20, to present the first $10,000 installment of this investment.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the healthcare workforce in Appalachia and supporting students who feel called to serve their home communities through careers in health and allied health professions. Currently, 83% of ALC alumni work and serve in the Appalachian Region. The Allied Health Club at Alice Lloyd College provides students with mentorship, professional development opportunities, exposure to healthcare careers, and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for service-oriented careers in the region.

During today’s campus visit, six ARH team members were present, four of whom are proud Alice Lloyd College graduates. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the College’s mission to educate students from Appalachia who go on to return and serve the region as leaders and professionals.

“This partnership is deeply meaningful to us,” said Dr. Allison Southard, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Alice Lloyd College. “Not only does ARH share our commitment to improving health outcomes in Appalachia, but many of their leaders and professionals are living examples of what an Alice Lloyd education makes possible. They are our alumni, serving our region with excellence.”

For over 100 years, Alice Lloyd College has prepared leaders for Appalachia. The College is grateful to partner with Appalachian Regional Healthcare to help build a stronger pipeline of compassionate, skilled professionals dedicated to serving the region they call home.
