Six USA finalists to compete for final two spots in World Finals
The final two spots in the WBSC eBaseball™ Series 2025 World Finals Presented by Visit Raleigh are up for grabs, with a competition taking place on Thursday set to decide who will secure the remaining places.
On Friday, 7 November, the WBSC eBaseball™ Series 2025 USA Finals Presented by Visit Raleigh will take place at the NC State Gaming and Esports Lab on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
The competition begins at 09:30 local time, and will feature six of the best United States players in WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS, competing for the final two spots in the World Finals, to join Tomokun, SHE SHE, benzen, MSQA, Hig Yurune and Pome.
The field of six include Jon’sCopyright, Compass, BigSid, KangGang, drum/yg and MCscales. The six players qualified via two routes, the USA eBaseball™ Power League and the USA Open online tournament in WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS held in September.
Competition will begin with round-robin play between the six competitors, who will be divided into two pools of three and play each of the other players in their group once. Their finishing positions will determine the afternoon bracket play, with the top players in the group earning a bye to the semifinals. The first round of bracket play will see the second-place finishers from each group face the third-place finishers from the opposite group, with the winners advancing on to meet the top seeds and the losers being eliminated.
The winners of the two semifinals will automatically qualify for the World Finals, and will play each other for the title of USA champion. The runner-up will earn the Wild Card for the World Finals, while the losing semifinalists will play a third-place game before the championship game.
drum/yg is the two-time defending champion of the USA Finals, and will be looking for a third straight national title. He has previously competed in the WBSC eBaseball™ Series 2023 World Finals and Group A of the HUGAN WBSC ePremier12 2024.
Jon’sCopyright returns for his second successive appearance in the USA Finals, having also featured in Group A of the HUGAN WBSC ePremier12 2024. Compass and KangGang are the other returning players, both making their third appearance in the USA Finals. Compass competed in Group A of the HUGAN WBSC ePremier12 2024 last year, while KangGang, who placed fourth at the Olympic eSports Series 2023, reached the quarterfinals of bracket play in last year's USA Finals.
BigSid and MCscales are newcomers to the WBSC eBaseball™ Series, and are competing in in-person competition for the first time. BigSid was the top American finisher in the USA Open, while MCscales ranked fourth among American players.
All USA Finals games on Friday will be broadcast on WBSC YouTube channel, the WBSC eSport Twitch channel, and the USA Baseball YouTube channel.
