WBSC Congress 2025: Executive Board convenes for final meeting before elections

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Executive Board convened for its final meeting at the The Grand FourWings Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand before upcoming elections**, which are scheduled to take place this Saturday during the WBSC Congress 2025.

Opening the meeting, WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari expressed his gratitude to the Board members for their dedication and collaboration over the past four years.

“We have faced challenges, but we always found solutions together,” President Fraccari said. “I want to thank all of you for your constant support during this term. We worked as a team and achieved great results.”

Reflecting on the past four years, President Fraccari acknowledged the progress made under the Board’s leadership and looked ahead to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

“The next four years will bring new goals and ambitions,” he continued. “We look forward to the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, the LA28 Olympic Games and our next important objective is to ensure the presence of Baseball/Softball at the Brisbane 2032 Games.”

The Executive Board also previewed the agenda for Saturday’s WBSC Congress, where President Fraccari will deliver a detailed report outlining the achievements and strategic direction for the coming years.

“You will hear more in my report at the Congress,” he said. “But today, it is important to thank all of you for the commitment and teamwork that made our success possible.”

During the meeting, the Executive Board approved South Sudan as a new WBSC member, pending ratification by the Congress on Saturday.
