Mets Minors Recap: Jett Williams Goes Deep For Syracuse

Jett Williams went 1-for-3, leaving his mark in the ninth with a two-run homer to left-center; his fifth of the season with Syracuse. He turned on a Hobie Harris splitter, sending it 375 feet at 107.1 mph off the bat. Overall, he went 1-for-3 with two walks.

The top of Syracuse’s lineup carried the offense, with all three extra-base hits coming from the first three hitters. Williams jumped on a splitter over the middle and launched it to left-center for a homer. Clifford barreled the ball up in all three of his at-bats, recording exit velocities of 98.8, 104.9, and 109.4 mph, respectively.

It was another strong relief outing for the flame-throwing Ross, who has to be eyeing a call-up to Queens.

Box Score

The Ponies managed to scrape out a win despite putting up just three hits and two walks. Their lone run came on a wild pitch in the seventh with two outs and runners on second and third.

Binghamton’s bullpen was dominant, combining for 9 innings of shutout ball with 16 strikeouts. De La Cruz set the tone with seven strikeouts over three frames, while Metoyer, Shook, and Lambert followed by allowing just two hits the rest of the way. Lambert closed it out in style, striking out four of the five batters he faced.
