The Mets have called up INF Luisangel Acuña and RHP Justin Hagenman for their September roster expansion.
The Mets will presumably leverage Acuña’s exceptional speed and defensive prowess to secure victories in close games and maintain leads during the later innings.

1972: The Mets had their largest comeback win in franchise history. Down 8-0 in the top of the eighth inning to the Houston Astros, Ken Boswell hit a home run and Wayne Garrett drove in runs to cut the lead to 8-7. In the ninth inning, the Astros made two errors that allowed the Mets to tie the game. The Mets later added two more runs to win the game 11-8.
