Mets Minors Recap: Santucci Strikes Out 11
Lefty Jonathan Santucci struck out a career-high 11 Friday in Double-A Binghamton’s 4-2 victory over New Hampshire. He gave up one unearned run on three hits and a walk over 5 1/3 innings to drop his ERA to 2.73. He has struck out 40 in 29 2/3 innings in six starts since his promotion to Binghamton. The 22-year-old drafted last year in the second round out of Duke came in at No. 13 on Metsmerized Online’s top 50 prospect update last week.

Peña is 0-for-10 in his last four games, but his numbers this month remain excellent. He’s 13-for-33 (.394 batting average) with a home run, two doubles, a triple, five RBIs and five stolen bases in seven tries. For the season, the 17-year-old from the Dominican Republic is hitting .280/.415/.470 with six homers, 27 RBIs and 21 steals in 204 plate appearances.
