Brad Hill steps down as ESU baseball coach, takes assistant job at Dartmouth
Emporia State announced that head baseball coach Brad Hill is stepping down from the program
Hill will take the assistant coaching position at NCAA Division I Dartmouth.
"I want to personally thank Brad for his two years of dedicated service to Hornet Baseball and for the many contributions he has made to our program during that time,"Emporia State Director of Athletics Steve Rodecap said in a press release. "His leadership and commitment to our student-athletes have been greatly appreciated."
Hill will coach under Dartmouth head coach Blake McFadden, who pitched for Hill at Kansas State from 2013 to 2016. McFadden was named interim head coach at Dartmouth in July following the retirement of Bob Whalen.
"It's never easy leaving the current players in the program, especially at your alma mater," Hill said in a press release. "I've had a great two years reconnecting with a lot of people. I've said before the only reason I would leave is if a former player was the head coach at a D-I school and makes me an offer. To me, that is a great honor, and I could not turn him down."
Hill coached at his alma mater for two seasons and led the Hornets to the MIAA Tournament after missing out on the previous two seasons.
The Hornets finished 23-25, along with a 16-20 mark in conference play in 2025.
