Morning Briefing: Alonso Ties Strawberry’s Record
Good morning, Mets fans!
It’s official! Pete Alonso on Saturday night hit home run No. 252 to tie Darryl Strawberry for the Mets’ franchise home run record. He now needs just one more home run to officially hold the Mets’ franchise record.
Though a triumphant mark for Alonso, his accomplishment was overshadowed by another demoralizing loss. A combination of defensive miscues and shaky pitching let the Brewers come from behind to take down the Mets 7-4. New York has now lost 10 of its last 11 games. Read more on the game here.
