India
Yes, India deserves its own thread.
Prime Minister Modi gave a national press conference addressing the Indian people directly, but really his speech was aimed at the world. Modi invoked many "Trumpisms" even using MIGA, Make India Great Again, and hammering on the concept that India is an independent, sovereign nation, which looks to put its needs first.
Well, IMO, India has never been really that "great" throughout its history. It has been invaded, occupied by various foreign countries, they had (still have) a horrible caste system, and it has been, historically, a backwards nation. But...that has changed fairly recently. Today India has taken its place among the world's elite nations. It has the largest population, the third largest economy, and the third most powerful military. And, and this is the most important point, India is the linchpin between which side would prevail in a world war (Heaven forbid). Simply put, the United States and our allies need India to be on our side should a world war occur. That seems most likely as their rivalry, and beef, with China should keep them from allying with China. But, Modi is meeting with both Xi and Putin in the next several weeks. I think Modi will make economic agreements with Xi and Putin that benefit India, but will not take it so far as to jeopardize his "India first" mantra.
So...Trump needs to schedule a meeting with Modi and go mend the fences he tore down with his childish rhetoric.
