  • Joe Ross (back spasms)
  • Status: 15-day injured list
  • Right-hander Joe Ross was placed on the 15-day injured list on July 22; the move was retroactive to Monday, July 21. Pitcher Alan Rangel was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Ross’ place on the active roster.

  • Alec Bohm (fractured left rib)
  • Status: 10-day injured list
  • Alec Bohm exited the game early against San Diego on July 12 after getting hit by a pitch in the left rib cage in his first at-bat. He was out of the starting lineup the next day, but returned for the first game of the second half on July 18.
  • Bohm was placed on the IL prior to Saturday’s game with a fractured left rib. Weston Wilson was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take his place on the 26-man roster.
  • Imaging done on Saturday, July 19, revealed a cracked left rib for Bohm, manager Rob Thomson said. Thomson estimated that Bohm could miss three to four weeks, possibly less. “I hate putting timelines on anything. It’s just tolerance,” Thomson said.
  • Thomson told reporters Sunday morning on July 13 in San Diego that Bohm did not get an X-ray. Thomson clarified and said that Bohm underwent an X-ray later that day. Bohm underwent treatment during the All-Star break, but felt discomfort in his last at-bat on Friday, July 18.
  • Bohm was on the field taking ground balls before Friday’s game against the Tigers. He was also scheduled to do some tee and toss work to get some swings in, per Thomson. “He’s moving around pretty good right now,” said Thomson. – Last updated on August 1 by Bailey Digh

  • Aaron Nola (stress fracture in right rib)
  • Status: 60-day injured list
  • Aaron Nola’s puzzling stint on the injured list continues. After originally being sidelined with a sprained right ankle in May, Nola now has a stress fracture on the right side of his ribcage, the pitcher clarified. Phillies manager Rob Thomson initially announced the injury as a stress reaction.
  • Nola’s first rehab start on Thursday was rained out. He’s now going to start on Friday for Triple-A Lehigh Valley and start again next Wednesday, according to Thomson. — Last updated on August 1 by Bailey Digh
