Today is he trade deadline! All deals have to be completed by 5 p.m. CT. The Royals have already made a pair of smaller trades, acquiring Adam Frazier and Randall Grichuk. They could still be in the market for an outfield bat. There was a report linking them to Red Sox outfielder Jarred Duran, although the asking price would likely be sky high. There may be some interest in Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds, although Pittsburgh wants hitters in return.

One player that won’t be traded is Seth Lugo, who signed a contract extension this week. But with Kris Bubic out for the year, the Royals may seek a pitcher who can help fill in their hole in the rotation.

Chad Jennings of The Athletic writes: “The Royals have added Randal Grichuk and extended Seth Lugo, but would you really be shocked if they also sold a player or two? Regardless, they’re probably not going to move aggressively either direction.”
