Morning Briefing: MLB Draft Begins Today
Good morning, Mets fans, and welcome to Day 1 of the 2025 MLB Draft!
The Mets’ first pick will be at No. 38 on Sunday night. They then have selections at No. 102 Sunday as well, followed by No. 133 and No. 163 in rounds two and three respectively, followed by the No. 28 pick each of the rounds from the fourth through the remainder of the draft. Alexis Farinacci previewed the Mets’ draft and who analysts believe the Mets will pick ahead of Sunday night.

The Mets on Saturday defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-1. Frankie Montas (2-1, 5.03 ERA) was credited with his second win; Jonathan Bowlan (1-2, 3.79 ERA) was credited with the loss, and Edwin Díaz (1.66 ERA) earned his 19th save on the season.
The Mets and Royals conclude their three-game season and the first half of the 2025 MLB season on Sunday. It will be right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes (8-4, 3.29 ERA, 81 SO) on the mound for the Mets against left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron (3-4, 2.57 ERA, 50 SO) on the mound for the home Royals.
The conclusion of this game will then lead into the All-Star break.
