It’s Sunday, and if it’s Sunday, it’s Meet the Links.
In Mariners news...
- Joel Sherman and the New York Post published their mid-season superlatives, and while they award Aaron Judge with the first half MVP, there is heavy acknowledgement that if Judge and Cal Raleigh’s circumstances were reversed, that Cal would be walking away with the award this far into the season.
- The Zach Pop era has ended, the age of Juan Burgos is nigh.
Around the league...
- A true legend of the game and one of the greatest Pirates of all-time, Dave Parker passed away yesterday at the age of 74. Parker will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 28th.
We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Hall of Famer Dave Parker. A legendary Pirate, Parker spent 11 years in a Pirates uniform, winning 2 batting titles, an MVP award and a World Series Championship in 1979.

- Baltimore Orioles starter Zach Efflin left his start after just one inning yesterday with lower back tightness.
- Mark Feinsand took a look at which teams will make the biggest splash as sellers next month at the deadline.
- On the topic of sellers, the Baltimore Orioles and GM Mike Elias really want to avoid being just that next month, but are preparing for the eventuality.
- Trea Turner hit a homerun in his last at-bat Friday night to spoil his chances at his fourth career cycle, but after touching home plate it occurred to him that he could’ve forced the triple if he’d just not touched home at all.
- The Tampa Bay Rays and their players seem very ready to stop answering questions about Wander Franco.
