Mariners Game #79, 6/25/25: SEA at MIN
The Mariners look to secure their second straight winning series
If you’ve peeked at the weather forecast for the Twin Cities the past few days, you’ve probably come to the safe bet that today’s Mariners game there will not be played.
Surprise!
Game is scheduled to start on time (but more rain in the forecast later) … https://t.co/gEaq5WtkJi

Whether the rain ends up suspending or cutting short the third game of this four-game set against the Twins will remain to be seen, but against all odds, it will not be delayed. With the Mariners coming off a one-run victory to secure a split last night, a win this evening would lock in a second straight winning series during this grueling 17-game stretch.
Lineups:
Jorge Polanco is back in the cleanup spot at DH after a mostly off day last night, and it’s Dominic Canzone and Ben Williamson’s turn to start the game on the bench, with Luke Raley in right and Miles Mastrobuoni at third base. George Kirby may have been knocked around in his last start at the always-chaotic Wrigley Field, but this matchup should be friendlier towards him, and fingers crossed we see an outing resembling his scintillating performance in Anaheim a couple weeks ago.
As for the Twins, Willi Castro will get his first start of the series at third base, and Christian Vázquez will start behind the plate. Joe Ryan is coming off of a middling outing against the Brewers, but he’s turned in a strong first half of the season, with a 3.37 FIP that is second only to Pablo López in Minnesota’s rotation.
