The Mets beat the Nationals 4-3 to complete the series sweep on Thursday, but Kodai Senga left with a right hamstring strain after leaping for a high throw at first. Senga had pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to an MLB-best 1.47. Jeff McNeil hit a three-run homer, Brandon Nimmo added a solo shot, and Edwin Díaz held off a late Nats rally for his 14th save. The Mets are 45-24 with the best record in baseball.
